Running through Scheveningen

Yes, I'm proud of myself, in my holiday I still went for a run! This morning I woke up and I thought, come on, shoes on and go, Meik! Along the harbor, along the promenade and back through the center to the apartment. The wind blew very hard, but I survived it, hihi.. I hope to go again this week. Running by the beach is so nice,  although it should be a little less warm. Today we are going to Den Haag, shopping.

Vacation: Scheveningen

Scheveningen is the place to be for the best beach bars, the nicest beach and lots of nice people. Especially with sunny weather this is really a heaven on earth! Delicious wines on a terrace, fine food and live music while you're louching on a soft bed. I had never been in Scheveningen, at least not beyond the harbor, but really love it here! I'm staying in Scheveningen for a week with my girls. We have rented an apartment, a short distance to the beach. Unfortunately, the weather is not as amazing as last week, but today we were lucky and the sun was shining! So lovely! I took my laptop with me, so I will try to continue blogging. How is your holiday? Or are there people who still work hard and look forward to a sunny holiday?

I love our very own Dutch brand Supertrash and today I accidentally disseminated the site of the brand from one of my favorite designers, Olcay Gulsen. What a lot of nice items are on sale! Even with many discounts between 50 and 70 percent I could spend a fortune on the most beautiful tops, pants, dresses and shoes. This outfit, all from Supertrash, I'd like to wear on a hot summer day like today (maybe we even see 30 degrees tomorrow). Hope the sun keeps shining for a few days, but I fear that next week I'll have to create an autumn inspired outfit..

Miranda Kerr shoots for Harpers Bazaar

Miranda Kerr, mother of the 1,5 year old Flynn, wife of Orlando Bloom (rumours say they are having a hard time in their marriage, but I love this couple) and model for Victoria Secret was featured with an amazing shoot in the August edition of Harpers Bazaar. I really liked this shoot, because of the horse riding time with a naughty touch. She look amazing in these pics, confident, sexy and still classy. I really love it!

My very first French manicure!

I have a new neighbour, she's from Poland and she is here for a little holiday. In Poland she studied from pedicure and manicure and now she's here she wanted to do my nails. I never do such things and don't use a lot of nailpolish, but I think she did great! I love it and in I'll go again in two or three weeks.

Flower powerrrr...

Who gets also really happy from flowers? I always try to have a vase with flowers standing in my home. Thanks to my mother, there are now two vases of flowers in home. One in the kitchen and one in the living room. One with beautiful white lilies and a homemade bouquet from my mother's own garden. Isn't it (she) sweet? It makes me very happy. Flowers bring a bit of summer into these muggy, cloudy days.

New: Cute flower dress

Yesterday I went to a fair in our local village and I saw this cute strapless dress. It was love at first sight,  I had to have it for the summer! My dear friend Anita thought it was just a Meik dress, hihi. When I woke up this morning I was so happy to see the sun was shining, so I could wear my newie.. What I also want to say is, people don't look at fairs a lot, they think the quality isn't good or have other, mostly negative opinions, but I love to look at fairs. Some of my best clothing are from the market. So I suggested you all look around at a market the next time, the clothes aren't that expensive and there are really nice things to find, if only you search for it..

Magazine: LINDA meiden

Especially for the Dutch girls who also love magazines and reading, and a new variant of LINDA! LINDA girls was launched yesterday and I saw already a lot of positive reactions on the internet, all enthouiastic. I couldn't leave him at the AH supermarket today, I had to buy it.  The price, 5.50, was the only thing that made me think for a second and I still think it's a bit much for a magazine, but the blade makes it all good, what a great edition! Everything is in there, beautiful men, daily uncertainties, inspirational ladies, lots of fun facts, and I'm very fond of the beautiful shoots that LINDA always makes. These aren't missing in this edition. So here it is, you must have to get the LINDA girls, within an hour I had him finished! Very nice way of writing, lay-out and even for the 'grown-up' girls a must-read, if only for the pussybook, if you know what I mean.. I didn't dare to take a picture of it, hihi..

Vooral voor de Nederlandse meiden die ook zo gek zijn op magazines en lezen, een nieuwe LINDA editie! LINDA meiden is gisteren gelanceerd en ik zag her en der op het internet al goede reacties voorbijkomen. Ik kon hem vandaag bij de Appie niet laten liggen. Ik schrok even van de prijs, 5,50 vind ik nog steeds erg veel voor een blad, maar na drie pagina's lezen ben ik al om, wat een geweldige uitgave! Alles zit erin, mooie mannen, dagelijkse onzekerheden, inspirerende dames, veel leuke weetjes en feitjes en ik ben zelf erg gek op de mooie shoots die LINDA altijd maakt. Deze zijn ook in deze meideneditie terug te vinden. Dus bij deze, gewoon halen bij de supermarkt of boekhandel, binnen een uur had ik hem zo'n beetje uit! Erg leuke manier van schrijven, spelende lay-out en zelfs voor de 'grote' meiden een must-read, al was het alleen al om het confronterende poezenboek, if you know what I mean, ik durfde er geen foto van te maken, hihi..

Photodiary: Running, studying and kittens

A small photodiary from the last two weeks. I'm running a lot since a few weeks, I try to go every other day. As you could have seen in some previous posts, the last weeks of school included a lot of typing and studying, but I'm finally finished! But I'm very curious about my grades, hope they'll be good. The kittens, born 9 June, are growing fast! Bottem left you can see the two of them, one all black and one multi-coloured, I'm very in love with the last one. So cute! And I enjoyed the few days the sun was shining of course! Biking with doggie Kemy, running and tanning! Unfortunately I haven't seen the sun in the last days, hope we'll soon have a few weeks of sun, I wanna go to the beach and do other fun stuff..

Summer books: Nicholas Sparks

These two books just came in two days ago. Luckily my vacation started at the same time, so I have plenty of time for some reading. I just received my four week schedule for work and those relatively not much houres so nothing stands in my way! At the moment I'm reading The Lucky One, also from Nicholas Sparks, because the filmed version is to see in cinema's since a few weeks. After that I will start with one of these two books, think Save Haven, there are filming that story at this very moment. 

Do you guys have some suggestions for more summer reading books?

Singing with: Jon Allen

A friend of mine suggested this singer-songwriter a few weeks ago. I'm such a type that immediately downloads all cd's of a unknown artist, in this case two and I have put them on my iPhone. While travelling to school with bus and train I met Jon Allen. His music is very nice, rock with some sadness. For a night on the couch with a good book and some background music, Jon Allen is very suitable. His music reminds me of John Mayer, one of my favorites. I shuffle my Jon Allen and John Mayer songs into a beautiful calm playlist. A small warning, after two hours of Jon Allen you should switch back to a happy Katy Perry song, because the chance that you hit a slight depression is relatively possible. The best songs are: Last Orders, Take Me To Heart, Young Mans
